The song "Lovin' Arms" by the Wood Brothers has a total angsty Bones POV feel for me. Personally I heart Kirk/Bones, so that's the kind of lens I'm seeing it through, but it could really be Bones/anyone. It's a beautiful song regardless, y'all should listen to it (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Wood+Brothers/_/Lovin%27+Arms). I submit the lyrics as evidence:
Ridin' a big jet plane Cryin' into your sleeve 'Cause you miss those lovin' arms
A lullaby keeps on playing' You're thinking it's a dream 'Cause you miss those lovin arms
And you got a good mind to pray They it's all part of His plan But what if He's got slippery hands?
Well it's a sad face you're wearin' Like a burned out sun 'Cause you miss those lovin' arms
You'd think a grown man would care 'Bout his bootlace undone But you just miss those lovin' arms
God damn, you're a boy, not a man When you miss those lovin' arms
Well someday, when you're up there flying And you miss those lovin' arms It isn't so far away, that sweet lullaby, When you miss those lovin' arms
Pining, loneliness, self-chastisement for being a sap, and a hint of aviophobia - with a hopeful ending.
